Welcome to the Old Malvernian Cricket Club

The Old Malvernian Cricket Club (OMCC) has been a beacon of excellence and tradition since its first tour to Eastbourne in 1895. The club has a rich history of competitive success and camaraderie, fostering a strong connection among Malvern College alumni through the timeless sport of cricket.

Club Highlights

Since the inauguration of the Cricketer Cup in 1967, the OMCC has achieved remarkable success, winning the prestigious cup on 11 occasions and finishing as runners-up five times. Notably, the club has secured seven victories since 2006, most recently in 2023 against the Old Tonbridgians at the iconic Arundel Castle Cricket Ground.

Annual Tour and Opportunities: The OMCC organises an annual tour to Malvern in July, offering Upper Sixth leavers the chance to try out for the OM team. This tour is a fantastic opportunity for new talent to join our ranks and for experienced players to reconnect with the game and their peers.

The OMCC Patrons’ Club is open to those with a special interest in the development of cricket at Malvern College and within the OMCC. Members of the Patrons’ Club play a vital role in supporting and nurturing the future of cricket for Old Malvernians.

Gryphons Team

In 2024, the Gryphons Team was formed by Finley Morris (2.17-22) for social matches, with the inaugural internal match in August on the Senior. The entire day was a massive success, with some great cricket being played by OMs ranging from 18-80.

Players of all abilities welcome and both male and female members can join the team. If you would like to join our newest sports team, please email [email protected] to find out more.
