Remembering Peter Condy

9.45-50

After leaving Malvern College Peter went on to become a production engineer. He became Managing Director of Bell Punch Co Ltd where one of the first fully electronic desk top calculators (the Sumlock Anita Comptometer) was developed in 1961.

He loved travelling (for both work and pleasure), motoring (in his late teens/early twenties he was a keen amateur rally driver), gardening, anything to do with cars, civil aviation, trains and machinery. He was a keen reader and enjoyed discussing politics.

He and his wife spent many happy years fly-fishing on the River Torridge. However, his greatest joy was his family – his late wife, two daughters, four granddaughters and five great grandchildren.

He was kind and caring – as friends and family have commented:

“He was very kind, had a warm cheerful smile every time we saw him.”

“Peter was always a favourite because not only was he totally kind and thoughtful but 100% reliable when you needed him.”

He will be greatly missed.
