Remembering Jonathan Ormsby

Jonathan Anthony William Ormsby (1. 66-68)

We are saddened to announce the death of Jonathan Anthony William Ormsby, who died on 1st July 2026 at St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester.

Jonathan was born on 19th September 1952, the son of a highly decorated Royal Navy officer, and was a pupil at Malvern College from 1966 to 1968, a member of House No. 1.

After further education in the UK, France and Germany Jonathan spent the first twelve years of his career in the wine business with Saccone and Speed, the fine wine division of Courage. Later he became a director of several companies in the retail and merchandising fields.

At his funeral on 31st July he was described as a loyal and trusted friend to all who knew him, charming, a great listener, a tenacious business partner and a devoted family man.

He leaves three sons, five grandchildren, his former wife and his partner of twelve years.
