Remembering Geoff Cunningham

Thomas Geoffrey ‘Geoff’ Cunningham attended No.7 from 1948 to 1952.

After Malvern Geoff worked through the ranks of a stevedoring company on the Mersey, managing a subsidiary before being taken over by Mersey Docks and Harbour Company. He worked on their first overseas project as Operations Controller in the Port of Dammam, Saudi Arabia. Afterwards he joined the Kanoo Group as Regional Shipping Manager in the U.A.E. Later he went on to advise Netherland Government Port and undertake projects in India and Turkmenistan, retiring in 1999.

Geoff passed away suddenly in hospital on 27th October, 2025, aged 91. Adored husband of Meda, and devoted father to Howel (7.83-88).
