Remembering David Armstrong-Smith

Born in India, David attended boarding school there before starting at Malvern College. After Malvern, David passed out as an officer of the Royal Engineers after completing his National Service. David then joined Avery Weighing and Testing and was posted to India and Sri Lanka. After years of managing staff in the tropics, he moved to Sydney where he was the pioneer of the recruitment industry and established Executive Recruiters. David met and married Anna and had a daughter and a son.

David bought the Australian franchise of Tack Training International in 1984 and held offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. David was a proud and dedicated Old Malvernian. He served as the Malvernian Society Representative in Australia from 1974 until 2013 and was appointed a Governor of Malvern College. David and Anna enjoyed hosting dinners and entertaining visiting OMs.

David is much missed by his family. He died on 14th May 2023, aged 88.
