William Winstone

William Winstone is a leading high-performance coach, blending sports psychology, psychotherapy, and leadership development to help individuals and teams thrive. A founding partner at Mezzana Partners, he has worked with elite athletes, Olympians, and corporate leaders, shaping the success of organisations such as British Rowing, Essex Cricket, Schroders, and PwC. His fascination with human psychology and what it takes to perform at the highest level has driven his career, from his early days in retail with John Lewis to becoming a sought-after executive coach and sports psychologist.

His journey from Malvern to global high-performance coaching was anything but conventional. After taking a gap year working across Israel, Switzerland, and the UK, he pursued a business degree at Hertfordshire University before entering the corporate world. A deep love of sport led him to transition into tennis coaching, training as a psychotherapist, and ultimately qualifying as a sports psychologist and leadership coach. His work has taken him to Olympic training camps, international competitions, and boardrooms, where he helps individuals and teams unlock their full potential in a meaningful way by developing emotional intelligence, resilience, and self-awareness. His constant motivation is to help people achieve their potential.

Beyond his professional success, William remains passionate about sport, continuing to play tennis and serving on the board of his local tennis club. He fondly remembers his time at Malvern, where he played golf and cricket for the College, and values the friendships and house culture that shaped him. With a career dedicated to understanding and enhancing human performance, William exemplifies the spirit of curiosity, dedication, and excellence that defines a true Malvernian.
