Malvernians have long been known for their resilience and ambition, and Sam Glover’s extraordinary solo row across the Atlantic is a testament to both. Competing in The World’s Toughest Row, Sam conquered 3000 nautical miles in just 42 days, 3 hours, and 15 minutes, making him the fastest solo competitor in the race.
Setting off from La Gomera in the Canary Islands on 13th December 2023, Sam navigated the vast Atlantic aboard The Entrepreneur Ship, arriving at Nelson’s Dockyard, Antigua, on 24th January 2024. His crossing was filled with both challenges and triumphs – from the daunting task of scraping barnacles off his boat’s hull to the breath-taking sight of a moonrise near the equator. This epic row was one of both physical endurance and strategic precision, Sam’s calculated approach to speed secured his place as a leader in the solo category, even outpacing larger teams.
Beyond his achievements at sea, Sam is passionate about the intersection of business and society. As a partner at SG Capital, he plays a key role in investing in real estate with a focus on long-term value and ethical sustainability. His spirit of adventure and commitment to innovation make him an inspiration to the Malvernian community.
