Annika Schulz

With a deep-seated passion for science, the human body, and the community, Annika swapped the serene campus of Malvern College for the bustling city life of University College London (UCL), where she is now on a journey through medical school.

As part of her studies, Annika headed to Vancouver, where she embarked on a two-year Master’s at the University of British Columbia, immersing herself in coronavirus research, advanced cell culture and virology labs at the very height of the Covid-19 pandemic. This intense lab experience proved pivotal, reinforcing Annika’s desire to combine hands-on research with her dedication to patient care, and gave her the opportunity to present her findings at conferences in Canada and at the renowned Gordon Research Conference in California.

Beyond the laboratory and lecture hall, Annika is an avid athlete. As both a triathlete and a CrossFit enthusiast, she has competed at the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in St. George, Utah, as well as being awarded a prestigious Ledder Cap whilst at Malvern College.

Now, in the penultimate year of her medical studies, Annika remains passionate about working with people and continues to juggle her pursuits in medicine, research, and high-level athletics, embracing each with the same intensity and commitment.
