Danielle Close (4.04–09) is the founder of sustainable skincare brand My Skin Feels and a professional psychic medium, whose career bridges the worlds of beauty, wellbeing and intuition. With over 15 years’ experience in the global beauty industry, Danielle began her career after training as a make-up artist at the Glauca Rossi School of Make Up, where she met Charlotte Tilbury. At just 19 she joined Tilbury’s founding team, initially as her PA before becoming PR, marketing and social media executive, helping launch the now globally recognised beauty brand as part of a small team.
After several years working freelance across beauty, fashion and wellness, Danielle became increasingly frustrated by the waste and over-saturation she saw in the industry. Determined to create something better, she launched My Skin Feels in 2023 with a mission to prove that high-performance skincare and sustainability can coexist. Her brand transforms by-products from food manufacturing – including tomato ketchup, olive oil, breakfast oats and orange juice production – into microbiome-friendly skincare ingredients.
Despite being a young company, My Skin Feels is already gaining significant recognition. The brand is stocked by major retailers including Whole Foods Market and across the USA in Credo Beauty, has received multiple industry awards, secured its first round of investment following Danielle’s appearance on the BBC’s Dragon’s Den in February 2026. Looking ahead, she hopes to expand the brand’s impact by rescuing food waste at scale and working directly with British farmers to help shape a more sustainable future for the beauty industry.
Danielle is also a fifth-generation Professional Psychic Medium, having trained for several years at the College of Psychic Studies. Seeing clients from all over the world, she’s on a mission to normalise the work so that everyone can find help when they need it the most.
Reflecting on her time at Malvern College, Danielle remembers the strong friendships she formed in No.4 and the confidence the school helped her build. Experiences, such as speaking in Chapel and taking part in Speech and Drama, helped prepare her for career-defining moments like pitching on Dragon’s Den. Her advice to pupils and young OMs today is simple: embrace opportunities that push you out of your comfort zone and stay open to the many different career paths available.
