Green Fund

For over 150 years at Malvern College, we’ve believed in preparing for tomorrow. Now we must rise to the biggest challenge to our future: climate change. That’s why, together with our wonderful Malvernian community, we launched our first ever Green Giving Day founded on the ambition to make our campus net zero by 2050.

For 36 hours on 20th/21st June 2023, Old Malvernians, EOGs, parents, staff and pupils united to prepare for the future. Gifts received before and on the day helpedwill help to launch the Malvern College Green Fund, and kickstart the College’s biggest transformation since our founders’ vision 158 years ago.

How your gifts will make a difference

Your support, combined with the generosity of others, will protect our heritage buildings, enabling us to retrofit our traditional boarding houses and Main Building to the highest ‘eco’ standards – reducing our carbon footprint and making our learning environments sustainable for future generations of pupils. This includes:

  • cutting emissions by changing how we heat and light buildings
  • reducing energy waste through insulation and double glazing
  • exploring the generation of our own energy through investment in solar, wind and air-source options.

Over the last year, we have been working with Purcell Architects and CBG Consultants to develop a long term masterplan for the College, which will place sustainability at the heart of all we do. Pupils and other key stakeholders have been consulted and we are excited to share with you our new 10-year Masterplan in the near future.

This is a watershed moment for the College. Becoming net zero will be the biggest transformation in our 150+ year history. Sustainability is critical for our future mission so that we can continue to develop outstanding, intellectually curious and resilient young people. We want our community to be there at the very beginning as founding partners of a College that is fit for future generations.

Together, we can take the first steps to safeguard our beautiful setting for our future pupils.
