OM LODGE

The Old Malvernian Lodge No.4363 is a Freemasons’ Lodge for Old Malvernians and Masters of Malvern College, present and past, whether already a Freemason or those interested in becoming one. It is part of the Public School Lodges’ Council; a forum for the private lodges of many of England’s great public schools.

We welcome enquiries from anyone interested in finding out more about Freemasonry. Also, those who are already Freemasons are warmly welcome to join us; especially those from PSLC Lodges or Old Malvernians from other Lodges – just ask!

Members of the Lodge meet in London three times each year: in January, April and October. For our June meeting we return to Malvern College to celebrate our Freemasonry which gives us the opportunity to support College charities and initiatives.

LATEST NEWS
Like many other events the date of our Centenary meeting was pushed out by the pandemic and its consequent impact upon long-planned events, so our real Centenary – 26 January 2022 – came and went without a murmur. Nevertheless, the Lodge held its celebratory meeting on 30 November in great style at the Headquarters of Supreme Council in Duke Street, St James’s, followed by dinner at the Army & Navy Club in Pall Mall which, significantly, had been the Secretary’s correspondence address since our foundation in 1922 until his death 30 years later in 1952. Our Guest of Honour was the Deputy Metropolitan Grand Master, WB Duke. Among other official guests were the Grand Chaplain, The Rev. Dr Simon Thorn, the son of an OM and former Secretary of the Lodge. The Grand Secretary, Adrian Marsh, was also present as was the Metropolitan Grand Secretary, Matthew Christmas.

Bruce Clitherow (7.67-72) was in the chair and his personal guest was PG Lowndes, the Immediate Past Pro Grand Master and a former President of the Eton Ramblers. There followed a champagne reception and dinner at the Army & Navy Club, following which the members of the Lodge gave a Hearty rendition of three verses of the Carmen.
