Tom Morison to run London Marathon for British Heart Foundation

In just three weeks, Old Malvernian Tom Morison (SH.18-23) will be lacing up his running shoes to take on the London Marathon in support of the British Heart Foundation (BHF). The 26.2-mile challenge, taking place on Sunday 27th April, holds deep personal significance for Tom, who is running in memory of his grandfather, who sadly passed away from heart failure earlier this year.

Currently studying Business Management at Newcastle University, Tom has dedicated months to training for the prestigious race. Reflecting on his motivation, he shared:

“Earlier this year, my grandfather sadly passed away from heart failure, just days before he was due to undergo a heart operation. Losing him has been heart-breaking, but it has also strengthened my determination to support the BHF in their lifesaving work.

“I’ve been training hard for months, and I’m both excited and nervous to take on 26.2 miles in his honour and for everyone affected by heart disease. Every donation, big or small, will make a huge difference—so if you can, please support me in reaching my fundraising goal. And if you’re in London on the 27th of April, come and cheer me on!”

Tom’s dedication exemplifies the spirit of Malvernians striving to make a difference. If you would like to support his fundraising efforts and contribute to the British Heart Foundation’s vital research, please visit Tom’s JustGiving page.
