Why Support Malvern?

'It is sometimes said that the OM Society (1895-1925) and its successor the Malvernian Society has done more for the School than most Alumni Societies do.'

So began the ‘History of the Malvernian Society’, written in 1965. The author then went on to say that‘there was more for the Society to do than at most Schools!’. With no foundation to build on or generous donor the smooth the way, Malvern might not have survived without the generosity of its early alumni; and it would not be the first-class school that it is today without the enduring support of its modern benefactors.

Capital developments

Nearly every building on the campus has been paid for by gifts from Old Malvernians, parents, staff and Friends of the College. From the first science laboratory funded by Headmaster St John Gray to the refurbished Rogers Theatre (including the Lyall Foyer, named for a recent legator), the development of the school has been, and continues to be, based on your generosity.

Endowment Funds

As well as our commitment to improving facilities, the Society aims to make transformational gifts, allowing pupils to benefit from a Malvern education whose families might not otherwise be able to afford the fees and ensuring that the school attracts the best talent. As well as funding assisted places and bursaries, we recently launched the Antony Clark Scholarship Fund, named for our previous Headmaster.

Tradition and Development

This embedded tradition of giving at Malvern helps us to continue to nurture young men and women of the highest calibre. We have an exciting programme of refurbishment and new building, developments that would not be possible without your continuing support.
