Professional Services London Networking Event

Professional Services London Networking Event

Did the advent of email kill the art of conversation? This was the thought-provoking assertion of our speaker, Paul Nicholls, at our networking event for alumni working in Professional Services on Tuesday evening (1st October).

Held in rooftop boardroom of wealth management firm, Sarasin & Partners, OMs enjoyed stunning views over St Paul’s Cathedral whilst making new professional connections and catching up with old friends.

Rob Breare, Chief Operating Officer at Malvern College told guests about the College’s ambitious 10-Year Masterplan and the investment it is making for Malvern’s future.

Guests then heard from College Council Member, Paul Nicholls (9.71-76) – Chief Executive and Chairman of Hoare Govett 2006-2012, chairman of UK Investment Banking at Jefferies 2012-2023 – who spoke about how communication has changed over time and explored the impact the Global Financial Crisis and Covid have had on the way we interact in business.

There was a terrific buzz in the room, with many new acquaintances made. We were also delighted that a number of Malvern Sixth Form pupils were also able to join the event and make connections from within our alumni community. A huge thank you to Sarasins & Partners for their hospitality.

Our next networking event will be for the creative industries – look out for details very soon!
