OM to run London Marathon in memory of wife

Will Hoyle (7.89-94) will be running the London Marathon this Sunday (21st April) in memory of his wife, Simona who died of Bowel Cancer aged just 46 in January this year.

Despite being a member of the Football and Cricket XIs no-one would ever have described Will as a natural runner so these 26 miles will be a challenge, but as Will has said “Five hours of sweating and sore feet is nothing to the 50 rounds of brutal chemo that Simona endured over two and a half years. Caring for her was my honour, and my daughters and I miss her so much every single day.”

Will quit his job as an accountant last year to look after Simona, and is currently working as a pastry chef part time in North London as well as continuing his involvement with the OM Football Club (OMFC) and as a board Director of the Amateur Football Alliance (AFA).

Will was incredibly moved to see a number of OMs at Simona’s funeral in Enfield in February – three of whom had also been at their wedding in 2007.

If you are able to, anything you can give will help raise awareness of this terrible disease and find new treatments. Simply visit his fundraising page to give your support: www.justgiving.com/page/william-hoyle-1701348686896.
