This weekend (21st June), George White (7.15-20) will take on the formidable Cotswold Way Ultramarathon – a 53km endurance run with a gruelling 1600m elevation gain – all in support of the mental health charity, Mind.
This challenge marks a significant personal milestone for George, who describes the ultramarathon as pushing him “far outside [his] comfort zone.” Yet, he’s motivated by a cause close to his heart: raising awareness and funds for mental health support.
“Mental health is deeply personal to me,” George shares. “I’ve seen loved ones struggle, and tragically, some have lost their battles. Running this ultramarathon is nothing compared to the daily challenges many face with their mental health.”
George has set a fundraising goal of £1,000, with every donation going directly to Mind’s vital work. The charity provides life-changing support to those in crisis and works tirelessly to break the stigma surrounding mental health.
He adds, “We all know someone who has carried the weight of mental health struggles. Together, we can make a difference – no gesture is too small.”
