Malvernians enjoy inspiring visit to University of Oxford

On Wednesday 30th April, a group of Malvern College pupils enjoyed an inspiring and sun-soaked visit to the University of Oxford, guided by two Old Malvernians now studying at the world-renowned institution.

The day offered a fantastic opportunity for pupils to experience Oxford’s unique atmosphere and explore its iconic landmarks. The group visited the historic Bodleian Library, the striking Sheldonian Theatre and the Radcliffe Camera, as well as the Pitt Rivers Museum, University Parks and the picturesque Christchurch Meadows.

Several Oxford colleges opened their doors to the group, including Trinity, Balliol, Pembroke, Keble and St John’s. However, the true highlights of the day were personalised tours led by two former pupils: Shuaichu Pan (7.20-24), currently reading Philosophy, Politics and Economics at The Queen’s College, and Josi Jebens (EH.17-22), reading Biochemistry at Merton College.

Shuaichu and Josi shared not only insights into their colleges and courses but also gave valuable advice about the application process. Their guidance and enthusiasm left the group feeling both informed and inspired, offering a glimpse into life as a student in the ‘City of Dreaming Spires’.

We are immensely grateful to Shuaichu and Josi for taking the time to support and encourage the next generation of Malvernians.
