Driving India in a Tuk Tuk: One OM’s mission to make a difference

Driving India in a Tuk Tuk: One OM’s mission to make a difference

Banita Dodhia (6.17-21) is about to embark on the journey of a lifetime across India, all from the seat of a roaring rickshaw. Along with parents Milan and Priti, Banita will be driving from the vibrant beach town of Rameshwaram in Southern India to the bustling desert city of Bhuj some 3000km away.

The trio are not going in an air-conditioned luxury car, they are going to be driving a Tuk Tuk. Only one of them has driven a Tuk Tuk before and that was blind folded, so this is going to be a challenge; from navigating city traffic, truck drivers, mechanical break downs and a top speed of 40km per hour, to unpredictable terrain and weather, the 12 day drive is certainly going to be eventful!

Banita will be taking part in the challenge from 13th – 25th December 2024. Beyond the heart-pounding excitement of the ride, the purpose of this adventure is to raise money for Shishukunj London, a charity providing essential resources such as food, shelter, and education to children in need.
