Congratulations to the Malvern College team for their outstanding victory against Hereford Cathedral School in last week’s annual Border Shield Match at Sixways Stadium. In a closely fought contest, Malvern emerged triumphant with a final score of 28–12.
The match, held on Monday 8th December, was the highlight of the season and lived up to its reputation as the most anticipated fixture of the year. It was fantastic to see such enthusiastic support from pupils, parents, and staff, creating an electric atmosphere throughout the evening.
A special thank you goes to Dave Reynish (6.74–79) and Rhino for generously donating the equipment for the match. Since 1980, Rhino has been at the forefront of innovation in rugby training equipment, accessories, and match and training balls. You can learn more about Rhino here.
We also extend our gratitude to Anthony Watson (Ex-England, Leicester, Bath & British & Irish Lions), Chris Pennell (Ex-England & Worcester Warriors), and Rob Cook (Ex-Gloucester & Cornish Pirates) for delivering an inspiring talk at our Border Shield Late Lunch, which was attended by a wonderful number of Old Malvernians.
